  1. Thanks Carol, this is the best explanation on cronic pain I have ever read!

    Hi, Dabs,
Oh, this was a powerful article! This applies to quite a number of “conditions” beyond Lupus! Thanks so much for drawing our attention to the article.
It is difficult to walk in someone else’s shoes!
I have just so many walking spoons a day! In the morning, I look pretty good. If I over-do it, I can barely get across the room by evening. Those of us who had Polio as children and thought we were lucky to have only had a “light case”, are now facing the “second wave” called Post Polio Syndrome! “PPS”
    Thanks SO mush!
    Hugs,
    Elsie

  3. Love your bead painting below and glad you salvaged it. The beads are the star, as they should be!

I also loved the article and found myself trying to figure out how to adapt it for fibromyalgia. Much of it was the same – the difference being the lupus can cost you your life, whereas fibromyalgia can’t (or at least I don’t think it can).

Going to work every day costs me pretty much 9/10s of my spoons. I fret over not being able to read a book in a day as I used to do, not having the energy to paint for more than an hour or so on the weekend, of feeling like my life consists of working and not much else. I’ve crawled up the stairs on hands and knees because my feet hurt so bad I was in tears. I have no energy to cook, to clean, to spend time with my grandkids…

Yes indeed. The article resonated deeply.
